The Giants have roughly $12 million in cap space, so a deal is possible. But they may be waiting to see if Allen's price drops as training camp approaches. That is a risky game. Other teams with playoff aspirations could swoop in. The Giants need to decide if they want to compete now or keep building for the future. Signing Allen would signal they want to win this year.
