Ensworth Edges MBA 15-14 After Late Two-Point Conversion

October 30, 2026 - 08:45

Ensworth pulled off a dramatic 15-14 victory over MBA on Friday night, sealing the win with a two-point conversion in the final seconds of the game.

Trailing by one point after scoring a touchdown with just three seconds left on the clock, Ensworth chose to go for the win rather than settle for a tie. EJ Gibson took the ball in for the conversion, sending the home crowd into a frenzy and completing the comeback.

The game was a defensive struggle for much of the night, with both teams trading punts and struggling to find rhythm on offense. MBA held a narrow lead through the second half, leaning on its running game to chew clock and keep Ensworth's offense off the field.

Ensworth's final drive was methodical, mixing short passes and runs to move into scoring position. With time winding down, the offense executed under pressure and found the end zone to set up Gibson's decisive play.

The win is a significant one for Ensworth, both in the standings and for momentum. Players and coaches celebrated on the field as the clock expired, while MBA was left to regroup after letting a late lead slip away.

Ensworth will look to build on the emotional win in its next matchup, while MBA aims to bounce back from a tough finish.
