Peralta Set to Face Former Team as World Series Begins

Peralta Set to Face Former Team as World Series Begins

It has been less than a year since the Milwaukee Brewers traded Freddy Peralta. Now, he is going to face them in the World Series.

Peralta, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship Series, will take the mound against the organization that developed him. The right-hander spent the first several seasons of his career in Milwaukee before the Brewers sent him elsewhere in a deal that reshaped both rosters.

His performance this postseason has been a major storyline. In the ALCS, Peralta delivered multiple strong outings, mixing a lively fastball with a sharp breaking ball and keeping opposing hitters off balance. The award capped a stretch in which he looked like the ace his new team hoped he would become.

For the Brewers, the matchup brings a mix of familiarity and discomfort. Their hitters know Peralta well, having faced him in countless practices and games, but that knowledge cuts both ways. Peralta also knows their tendencies, their approach at the plate, and the way the club operates behind the scenes.

The trade itself remains a talking point. Milwaukee moved Peralta to address other needs, a decision that made sense at the time but now carries added weight on baseball's biggest stage. Whatever the reasoning, the result is a rare and dramatic reunion.

Peralta has downplayed the personal angle, saying his focus is on executing pitches and helping his team win. Still, the storyline is impossible to ignore. A pitcher traded away in the past year now stands between his former club and a championship.

Game one is set to begin with Peralta on the mound, and all eyes will be on the pitcher the Brewers let go.
