Guardians lineup, live score updates tonight vs. Reds

The Cleveland Guardians welcome the Cincinnati Reds to Progressive Field tonight for the first game of a two-game series. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. ET, with both teams looking to build momentum in the early part of the season.

Cleveland sends right-hander Tanner Bibee to the mound. Bibee has been a steady presence in the rotation, posting a 3.45 ERA over his first eight starts. He will need to be sharp against a Reds lineup that has shown power but also strikes out at a high rate. Cincinnati counters with lefty Andrew Abbott, who has struggled with command this year, walking nearly four batters per nine innings.

The Guardians lineup features Steven Kwan leading off, followed by Jose Ramirez in the three-hole. Ramirez has been hot lately, driving in runs in four of his last five games. Josh Naylor and Bo Naylor are also in the middle of the order, giving Cleveland a balanced attack from both sides of the plate.

For the Reds, Elly De La Cruz remains the main threat. The shortstop leads the team in home runs and stolen bases, but he has also been prone to strikeouts. Cincinnati will need him to get on base to put pressure on the Guardians defense.

Tonight's game marks the first meeting between these Ohio rivals this season. The Guardians hold a slight edge in the all-time series, but the Reds have won three of the last five matchups. Weather is expected to be clear with temperatures in the low 60s, ideal for baseball.

Fans can follow the action as it unfolds, with updates on scoring plays, pitching changes, and key defensive moments throughout the night. The game is expected to be a tight contest between two clubs fighting for position in their respective divisions.
